Unique networking opportunities
are created throughout the year allowing Alliance members
to meet with key construction professionals and decision makers.
Our networking vehicles develop into business relationships,
resulting in a more diverse group of contract bidders.
These outreach efforts
include Career & Opportunity Fairs, Networking Activities,
Advocacy Groups, Educational Institutions and Speaking Engagements.
Career
& Opportunity Fairs
The Alliance hosts and
participates in Career and Opportunity Fairs. These types
of functions provide the Alliance and its members with a direct
link to representatives of seemingly inaccessible prime contractors.
The Alliance encourages minority-owned enterprises to attend
the events so that they may use the opportunity to forge potential
relationships and partnerships with these companies.
In the past, the Alliance
has participated in the following:
· Atlanta Business League’s “Trading for
Profits”
· Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport’s
Job Fair
· The Governor’s Small Business Conference
· Hosted the Supplier Diversity Career & Opportunity
Fair
Networking Activities
Annual
Alliance Golf Challenge
One
of our most successful networking activities is the Alliance
Golf Challenge. Avid golfers gather for a day of fun and friendly
competition while raising funds for the Alliance.

Educational
Institutions:
The
Alliance is closely affiliated with Atlanta Metropolitan College,
Atlanta Technical College, Construction Education Foundation
of Georgia and Atlanta Public Schools.
Atlanta Metropolitan College
hosts the Construction Business Management Institute (CBMI)
on its campus. Through the College, continuing education credits
are given to all participants that complete the course. Atlanta
Technical College offers their resources to train students
in the Construction Skills Development Institute (CSDI) program
prior to them beginning their summer internship assignments.
Atlanta Technical College played a major role in the development
of the CSDI Training Curriculum Module.
The Atlanta Public School
System is a helpful partner to the Alliance’s CSDI program,
for it is from Atlanta Public High Schools that students are
chosen to participate. High-school teachers from schools with
technical programs assist in evaluating and recommending students.
Once chosen for their internships, Atlanta Public Schools
employ teachers to work with the students throughout the summer
to ensure their success.
Speaking Engagements:
Alliance executives participate as speakers, serve on a variety
of panel and round table discussions, and make presentations
at advocacy group board meetings and conferences, and minority-related
organizations:
· Executive Board
of the NANC
· Atlanta Business League Board Meeting
· Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
· Concerned Black Clergy
· AABJ
